Jeff Crosby

Publisher, InterVarsity Press - Vice President

Jeff was appointed InterVarsity Press publisher and InterVarsity vice president in April of 2016, after serving as IVP’s director of sales and marketing for 18 years, and also in recent years as associate publisher. He succeeds Bob Fryling, who retired after 19 years as publisher and with whom Jeff worked closely during his entire IVP career.

Jeff and his wife, Cindy, entered the Christian book business as owners of a Logos Christian bookstore in Bloomington, Indiana, in 1983. Later he became the executive director of the Association of Logos Bookstores. Prior to joining IVP in 1998, he spent two years in executive sales and marketing roles with the Christian divisions of Ingram Book Company.

Jeff graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ball State University in 1983. He added a master’s in leadership studies from North Central College in 2009. At IVP, Jeff managed sales to domestic retail accounts and international distribution partnerships in England, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, and other countries. He was instrumental in launching the direct marketing program for IVP Academic’s award-winning Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture reference series, and was a primary drafter of IVP’s digital publishing strategy in 2008.

Jeff has led numerous workshops and spoken at conferences on the topics of publishing, marketing, and management. In both 2015 and 2016, he served the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) as the content creation leader for its ECPA events. He is the editor and compiler of Days of Grace Through the Year, a collection of daily readings drawn from the published work of Lewis B. Smedes.

Jeff and Cindy have two grown children and five grandchildren. Cindy works in environmental interpretation with the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois, and is a volunteer steward at Nachusa Grasslands in Franklin Grove, Illinois.
