Bob Fryling

Bob Fryling was appointed to staff in 1969 after being an InterVarsity chapter president at Drexel University. His career track includes Campus Staff Member, Team Leader, Area Director, Divisional Director, Regional Director, Director of Human Resources, Director of Strategic Planning and for fourteen years Director of Campus Ministries. For all this varied background, Bob is perhaps best known for his ability to speak to issues of a Christian understanding and engagement with contemporary culture.

He is currently serving as the Publisher of InterVarsity Press (Westmont, Illinois) and a senior vice president of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Bob and Alice have two daughters. Dorie is married and living in Iowa City with her husband Steve who is pursuing a doctorate in Religious Studies at the U. of Iowa. They have two sons, Nathan and Justin. Bob and Alice's younger daughter, Elisa is editor of Shaw Books at Waterbrook Press in Colorado Springs with her husband, Eric Stanford. Alice continues to be heavily involved in a spiritual direction ministry with women in the Chicago area and in their church. The Frylings live in Woodridge, Illinois.
