College Ministry: Not 4 Years but 40 Years
The choices we make matter.
Which is why InterVarsity calls students to whole-life commitment to Jesus.
We don’t just ask students to change their behavior. We ask them to let Jesus change their desires and decisions.
We don’t just teach students how to love the friends in their dorms. We ask them to love strangers and outcasts and even enemies.
We don’t just teach students to study the Bible. We ask them to root themselves in it, so that the words of Jesus become their primary guide for how they live their life.
We don’t teach students to offer handouts. We ask them to know and be known by those they serve—to form authentic relationships marked by generosity and respect.
We don’t teach students to “just get along.” We ask them to face painful places of racial conflict, and work toward reconciliation.
We don’t ask students to follow Jesus for four years. We ask them to imitate him for forty years, and beyond.
What’s the result?
Our students don’t just change their campus. They ask God where he wants to use them, and then, by his grace, go on to change the world.
