| Sept. 1-6 |
Thank God for:
- High quality teachers, staff who were open to interaction and learning, and prayer partners which all contributed to
spiritual growth during NISET, National Institute for Staff
Education and Training, held this past summer.
- Over 150 students in the New York/New Jersey Region accepting Jesus Christ into their lives during the past academic year.
- The many faculty and their families who attended the Cedar Campus Midwest Faculty Conference this past June.
Please pray for:
- Students from Redlands University, Occidental College, and the Claremont Colleges, all in CA, to boldly share the Gospel as they invite new students to InterVarsity activities and Fall conference.
- Hallie Cowan, assistant regional director in spiritual direction and prayer in the New England region, and her husband Len, to remain close to Jesus through prayer and Bible study as they return to work after their sabbaticals.
- Jeremy and Tracy Greenberg, new staff at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, and Lees McRae College in Banner Elk, NC, to trust in God's provision as they finalize their support team.
- Graduate students at the University of California—Berkeley, as they meet God during their September 5-7 fall retreat, focusing on Can there be Sabbath in Graduate School? Pray for students to attend this conference but also that they trust God with their studies.

| Sept. 7-13 |
Thank God for:
- The 18 students and staff from William Penn University in
Oskaloosa, IA; Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA; and Drake
University in Des Moines, IA, who traveled to Ethiopia over
the summer to minister to the urban poor.
- A new house for Campus Staff Member Evan Smith, serving students at York College in Pennsylvania, and his wife Ellie. Pray for their home to be consecrated as a place of ministry as they connect with 150 new students this fall.
Please pray for:
- Several hundred students and regional staff from southern
California campuses to seek and recognize the work of the
Holy Spirit as they meet September 12-13 for training in
sharing the Gospel of Christ with others.
- Students from campuses across the area to develop passion for sharing the Gospel as they discover the vision of InterVarsity during the September 12 XXL gathering in northern New Jersey.
- Students on campuses across the Rocky Mountain Region (MT, ID, WY, UT, CO) to boldly share the Gospel of Christ with new students as they engage in conversations using Proxe Stations, interactive displays relating current world issues with the gospel.
- Shannon Lamb, team leader, to be a wise coach and gracious mentor to staff in north central Pennsylvania, as Jesse and Liz North, area directors, are on sabbatical for six months. Also pray that these staff and their ministries would thrive throughout this time.
- Students across the country to extend God's love on their campuses as they return from their various missions experiences this past summer.

Thank God for:
- Fifty-nine students who have accepted Jesus into their hearts during the past school year at colleges and universities in New York City.
Please pray for:
- Two people who are passionate about reaching university students with the Gospel of Christ to answer God's call and join the InterVarsity staff team in northern New Jersey.
- Members of the Urbana 09 Bible study teachers team to be deeply transformed by their study of John 1-4 and have insight into preparing materials for use during the convention December 27-31, 2009.
- New student leaders at York College in Pennsylvania to trust in Jesus and their abilities as they step into leadership for the first time this year.
- Liz Gonzalez, Kat Ng, and Tyson Babayco, ministry interns, as this month they develop relationships and begin ministering to students at the University of California—Davis.
- New students on campuses across the country to develop relationships and feel welcomed into the witnessing communities at their respective schools.
- Student leaders at the University of Wisconsin—Madison to seek God's guidance and vision for their campus as they begin a new semester training others in discipleship.

| Sept 21-Sept 27 |
Thank God for:
- All of the parachurch organizations, including InterVarsity, being reinstated at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
- Students developing deeper relationships with God and each other through small groups at Millersville University in Pennsylvania.
Please pray for:

Members of the New York/New Jersey Regional Leadership Team to seek God's vision and guidance as they meet September 22-24 and discuss ideas for sharing the Gospel on campuses.
- Students from Michigan State University in East Lansing, and Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, to develop relationships as they attend the New Student Outreach retreat September 26-28 at Cedar Campus, InterVarsity's training center located in
Cedarville, MI.
- People to join InterVarsity staff in New York and share the love of Jesus with students on campuses. Also pray for financial provision so that staff members may continue their ministry.
- Non-Christian students across the country to feel comfortable asking spiritual questions as they discover who Jesus is through participation in Bible studies and developing friendships within the InterVarsity community on campus.
- Students to share the Good News of Christ as they offer friendship and welcome international students into their lives and campus fellowships.

Thank God for:
- The 18 students who have recently accepted Jesus Christ into their lives at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD.
Please pray for:
- Several hundred students from campuses in the
Central Region as they gather October 3-5 in Kansas
City, MO, for fall conference and learn about God's
plan to bring His Kingdom to earth.
- Mike Hickerson, associate director of the Emerging Scholars Network (ESN), as he works with InterVarsity staff and faculty to offer the ministry of ESN to undergraduate and graduate students on campuses
across the country.
- Kimberly Blackford, Greg Wilburn, Chelsea Yu, and Bonnie LeCompte, InterVarsity staff serving students at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, as they work to raise financial support to continue their ministry.
- Students at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, and Colgate University in Hamilton, NY, to boldly share the hope they have in Christ as they graciously
welcome newcomers into their fellowships.
- Christian and non-Christian students to deepen their relationships with God and each other as this semester they study God’s Word as a community through four various Bible studies at Florida Institute of
Technology in Melbourne. Also pray these Bible studies become places of worship and community, and that students boldly share the Gospel of Christ with their friends.

| Oct 5-11 |
Please pray for:
- Students from campuses across the area to develop passion for sharing the Gospel as they discover the vision of InterVarsity during another XXL gathering October 10 in northern New Jersey.
- Steph Schmaltz, InterVarsity staff member at Drake University in Des Moines, IA, as she forms relationships and works to establish an International Student Ministries chapter on campus.
- Mike Schutt, coordinator for InterVarsity’s Law School Ministry, as he works with the Christian Legal Society and helps to facilitate the fifth Global Convocation held October 6-12 in Washington, D.C.
- Members of the Western Carolinas Area Team as they meet throughout the week of October 6 and coordinate details for the upcoming Cornerstone 2009 conference. Pray that the team seeks God’s vision as they prepare to teach on Growing in Love for God’s
Word.
- Students from the South Central Pennsylvania Area to focus on the goodness of God and His grace and redemption in community as they attend the area’s fall retreat discussing sex and the Gospel. Also pray
for Shannon Lamb, area director, as she prepares to address the topic with a biblical perspective of grace and honesty.
- Student leaders on campuses in New York as they plan gatherings which help their chapters to develop deep, rich, passionate prayer lives.
- Timothy Lin, InterVarsity staff, as he meets students and faculty on various campuses throughout Kansas

Thank God for:
- Carolyn Chapp, new InterVarsity staff member at Drew University in Madison, NJ, a campus that has not had a staff member over the past five years.
Please pray for:
- Global Projects directors returning from leading students
on missions trips this past summer to be rested and renewed as they meet for Global Debriefing October 15-19 at Bear Trap Ranch, an InterVarsity training facility in Colorado Springs.
- Native American students to gain a vision for incorporating personal discipleship into their daily lives and being missionaries on campus when they attend the first fall conference in the Four Corners area from October 17-19, (AZ, NM, CO, UT) held in Gallup, NM.
- Global Projects directors as they receive training to lead students on missions trips in 2009 during Global Project Director Training October 18-21 at Bear Trap Ranch in Colorado Springs.
- People to join InterVarsity staff serving students at Miles College in Birmingham, AL; ministering to international students at the University of Alabama—Birmingham; and sharing the Gospel with Greek students at the University of West Florida—Pensacola.
- Chris Goree as he develops relationships and establishes an InterVarsity chapter at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
- Andrea Thomas, co-regional director in the Red River Region, as she leads staff at universities in Central Texas throughout the fall.

Please pray for:
- Twenty evangelism champions from across the nation to seek God's direction for InterVarsity's ministry next
year as they meet October 21-23 in Madison, WI, to
strategize and pray for evangelism efforts on campuses
throughout the country.
- Participants to be open and receptive as on October 23 they discuss the book How Africa Shaped the Christian Mind by Tom Oden, at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA.
- Two hundred and fifty students to be equipped with skills
in discipleship and Bible study through Expedition, the fall
conference for upstate New York held October 24-26.
- Over 350 students to deepen their relationships with Jesus through training in discipleship, evangelism, leadership, and Bible study during The Big Event, fall conference for downstate New York and New Jersey from October 31-November 2.
- More than 400 students in the Northern California Area to seek God's vision for their campuses as they learn about discipleship, leadership, prayer, and following Jesus after graduation during the October 31-November 2 Trilogy 09 conference.
- Jim Cook, associate director of Faculty Ministry as he coordinates a faculty leadership team for the late February/early March 2009 West Regional Christian Faculty Symposiums at Denver University in Colorado.
- Graduate students from campuses in Washington, D.C. to make time in their busy schedules for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship.
