Baptism Study

Mark 1:4,7,8 John the baptizer appeared in the wilderness, preaching a
baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins… And he preached,
saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the thong of whose
sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I have baptized you with
water; but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 2:37-38,41 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and
said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?”
And Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the
name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” ... So those who received his word
were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

Acts 8:36 And as they went along the road they came to some water, and
the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What is to prevent my being
baptized?”

Acts 10:47-48 Then Peter declared, “Can any one forbid water for
baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit Just as we have?”
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

Acts 16:14-15 One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of
Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord
opened her heart to give heed to what was said by Paul. And when she was
baptized, with her household, she besought us, saying, “If you have judged
me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” And she
prevailed upon us.

Acts 16:30-33 “Men what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe
in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they
spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all that were in his house. And he
took them the same hour of the night, and washed their wounds, and he was
baptized at once, with all his family.

Romans 6:1-4 What shall we say then? Are we to contine in sin that grace
may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do
you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were
baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into
death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the
Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Ephesians 4:5: ... one Lord, one faith, one baptism…
