Global Campus Christmas

At Christmas we remember that Jesus came to earth with a global mission. InterVarsity and the other members of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) work on college campuses around the world to fulfill that mission by sharing the gospel with students, faculty, and staff.

IFES reports that on this day, three days before Christmas, Christian students in one Netherlands city are organizing Christmas dinners for the homeless and prostitutes, as well as activities for the elderly and disabled. In Jerusalem, students are hosting events celebrating both Hanukah and Christmas. In the Philippines, where recent flooding resulted in more than 1,000 casualties and widespread destruction, local InterVarsity students have organized fundraising to assist those who have been displaced.

Here in the U.S., InterVarsity groups on a number of campuses have hosted Christmas celebrations for international students to share the Christmas story with them. International students will also be gathering at Cedar Campus in Michigan right after Christmas to learn more about holiday traditions and the gospel story that they represent.

Student ministry is exciting and challenging. And it changes the world. Thank you to all of our ministry partners for helping InterVarsity advance God’s mission on campus.
