Management Magazine Spotlights InterVarsity's President

For Immediate Release

Madison, WI – American Executive, a magazine for corporate senior executives, features InterVarsity President Alec Hill in a Corporate Spotlight in its March 2006 issue. The interview with writer Michelle Rivera focuses on restructuring InterVarsity to facilitate growth.

“We want to expand and be in 50 to 100 more campuses within the next 10 years,” Alec said in the interview. He said that InterVarsity has a strategy for identifying, training and funding the staff who have the ability to expand the fellowship. This summer more than 100 staff will be working on the expansion project.

Because InterVarsity is a college-focused fellowship, it’s always engaged with a vibrant, dynamic part of the culture. “We’re constantly evolving and changing as an organization because of that,” Alec said.

The challenges of working with students include spiritual apathy. Alec said that one of the best ways of addressing apathy is to focus on justice issues through urban and global projects. InterVarsity students are involved this month in a variety of projects, including hurricane clean up in the Gulf Coast area. Each summer more than 3,000 students get involved in InterVarsity’s national and international missions projects.
