Your financial partnership with InterVarsity helps reach college students with the Gospel and establishes witnessing communities on campus. This web page describes the different ways that you may financially support our ministry. The Giving Process
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA® is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization, and gifts to InterVarsity are tax deductible. All gift processing is overseen by our Donation Services Team. Each time you donate, you will receive a donor receipt for your tax records.
Each donor receipt shows your year-to-date contributions and provides a year-to-date year-end summary. Your gifts will be shown for the January through December tax year on your receipt. InterVarsity’s fiscal year runs July 1st through June 30th, and gifts are used in the fiscal year in which they are received.
At InterVarsity the accurate accounting of your gifts is very important. Your donor receipt contains a tear-off-and-return portion that is coded with your name, address, amount, and how your gift was applied. When you receive a monthly donor receipt, please ensure that the information is correct.
If you find any inaccuracies or omissions, please contact us. Enclosed with your receipt will also be a courtesy envelope in which to mail your next donation. You will never receive a bill from us, or a monthly reminder. Changes to amounts or designations may be made by writing on the return portion of the receipt.

An independent audit of our financial records is conducted annually and a free copy is available online.

InterVarsity is a member in good standing with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. We pledge to maintain the highest ethical code of financial accountability and reporting consistent with biblical principles. InterVarsity has also been awarded four stars by Charity Navigator, a non-profit rating organization.

Ways You Can Give to InterVarsity
Electronic Funds Transfer
Easiest for you and cost-effective for us. Staff receive regular donations, and you do not need to send a monthly check. You may sign up or make changes easily at any time on our website. You can also contact our EFT coordinator by email or by calling our toll-free number at 866-734-4823.
Personal Check
Write your check made payable to InterVarsity and mail it with the tear-off-and-return portion of your previous donor receipt in the courtesy envelope provided. First time donors may use a business reply envelope provided by a staff worker. Be sure to tell us the campus, staff member, or project to which your gift should be applied.
Send your check to: InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, P.O. Box 7895, Madison, WI 53707-7895. Mailing checks to staff members instead of InterVarsity will delay our processing of your checks.
We use the name and address information printed on your check to send you a receipt for your tax deduction. (The IRS requires that we issue a receipt to the person whose name is on the check.)
Occasional Credit Card
Quick and easy. Donate online with your credit card: www.intervarsity.org/donate. (Approximately 3% of each credit card donation goes to the credit card company.) If you do not have Internet service but would like to contribute by credit card, please call our toll-free number 866-734-4823 to request this option from one of our Donation Services administrators.
Monthly Credit Card
Easy and efficient. This method allows InterVarsity to charge your credit card each month (EFT by credit card). For more information about this method, please call our toll-free number at 866-734-4823 and speak with one of our Donation Services administrators.
Online Banking
You may arrange with your bank to send contributions to InterVarsity. Unfortunately, when your bank sends us a check with only your name and address on it, we then need to search our database for your record to determine where to apply your donation. This method takes considerable administrative resources.
Appreciated Securities/Stocks
You may receive significant tax benefit from donating stocks or other appreciated securities. By transferring ownership to InterVarsity, you avoid capital gains tax, yet are able to claim a deduction for the full amount of the stock’s value at the time of transfer. Planned Gifts
