Sonrise
A poem |
The sun rose
out of the earth
erupted from darkness
dyeing the sky red
before bursting into flame.
. . . like another Son
who burst forth
from the grave
shaking dust from living skin
rising blood and flesh
scar-bearing
fish-eating
creation-embracing
earthy Man from heaven
inviting us
to join His wild and exuberant dance
on death’s grave . . .
and then
sit down
to a cooked breakfast.
