Too Busy and Burning Out
Who's in control?
Sidebar to "How to Care for your Soul": Help for busyness and burnout. |
Fall 2001 was an especially full semester for me. I was juggling a full load of campus ministry responsibilities and taking four demanding classes besides. By mid-November, I was just about burned out. Then God brought me back to his Word. As I sat and read Isaiah, God’s words of comfort reminded me that I’m not in charge of the world—not even my own little world. It’s amazing how free I am to serve God when I know that the burden of his kingdom is not on my shoulders. This gives me a glorious reason to rejoice!
