by Ben Nollola, sophomore U. of Nevada--Las Vegas Dear Heavenly Father, I've been thinking about you and your mercy, timing and purpose. So I want to ask you some questions. Is my dad's death a lesson for me? Did he have to die so soon? Couldn't you have waited until he saw my sister and me grow up some more? I know he's in heaven, but why did you take him there? Since his death, many good things have happened; were these things only to happen through his death? Aren't you a God who can do anything? Couldn't these things have been accomplished while he was alive? Did you need him in heaven more than I need him here on earth? Lord, these questions may sound dumb and repulsive, but I'm human, and I really hurt. You know my dad meant a lot to me and I needed him. Yet I know I'm your son and you are my celestial Father. Can you fill the void that my earthly father left? How? My dad was such a big part of my life. You know my situation better than anyone and you are the only one I can turn to. Please, give me some type of answer to ease my grief. In the precious name of your son Jesus. Amen. Your Son,
Cleofas Benjamin Nollola
