Kristal Calkins grew up in New Jersey, and went to college in Boston. She attended BU for undergrad in English Literature and English Education 8-12, and BC for graduate school in Early Childhood Education PreK-2, specializing in English Language Learners and Urban Education. Before becoming an administrative assistant for IVED in the fall of 2018, she served as a campus staff minister with InterVarsity at Rutgers University for 6 years. A mama of a 3-year-old boy, Kristal currently loves getting outside, spending time with friends, cooking for others, blogging about their family’s life in early childhood, and watching Chinese dramas. She, her husband Kevin, and their son live in central NJ, continuing to love Rutgers students where Kevin is a campus staff.
