Rev. Efrem Smith

President and CEO of World Impact

As preacher, motivational speaker, and author, Efrem Smith is internationally recognized for his passion to see lasting life transformations, communities revitalized to reach the marginalized, and further Kingdom advancement within our churches.

Serving as founding pastor of The Sanctuary Covenant Church, a multi-ethnic church in Minneapolis, MN, Efrem also co-founded and was President for The Sanctuary Community Development Corporation. Efrem has also served as Superintendent of the Pacific Southwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church, providing leadership to 160 churches within California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, and Utah.

He is the author of Raising Up Young Heroes, The Hip Hop Church, and Jump. Efrem’s latest book, The Post-Black and Post-White Church, was released in August of 2012. He and his wife Donecia, along with their two children, Jeada and Mireya, live in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

Shawn Young

InterVarsity’s National Director of Chapter Planting 

As National Director of Chapter Planting, Shawn Young developed and directed the National Planting Cohort, which has launched over 200 new InterVarsity chapters nationwide with an 80% success rate.  He is a strategist and curriculum developer for planting training, and directs InterVarsity's Ambition conference. Shawn co-authored Start Something New, InterVarsity's handbook for students.  Shawn's vision is to see every corner of every campus with a thriving witnessing community, and a growing movement of apostolic leaders sent into the world.

Shawn lives in Folsom, CA with his wife Caryn, and college-age children, Kalena and Nathan.

Megan Krischke

InterVarsity’s Native Ministries Coordinator

Megan Murdock Krischke is a member of the Wyandotte Tribe of Oklahoma and is also of Cherokee, Irish, & Scottish descent.  Megan serves as InterVarsity's Native Ministry Coordinator and lives with her husband, Will (Four Corners Area Director), and two children Flannery (age 8) and Soren (age 6.5) in Durango, Colorado.  Her vision is that every InterVarsity chapter would have a Native-specific small group.

Audrey Tom

Worship Director
InterVarsity Area Director, San Diego

Audrey Tom serves as an Area Director with InterVarsity.  During her 13 years on staff, Audrey has has planted a ministry at a community college, directed evangelistic student conferences, developed worship teams, and coached staff in fundraising and leadership skills. She has also led worship at national conferences and is a worship leader at her local church in San Diego. She is passionate about seeing people transformed as they encounter the living God. In her spare time, Audrey is always down for a good burrito or boba and enjoys silly dance parties with her husband Benson and 3-year old daughter Addie.

James Choung

InterVarsity Vice President, Strategy and Innovation

James Choung (DMin, Fuller Theological Seminary) is vice president for strategy and innovation for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA. He has been in campus ministry for over twenty years and previously served as national director of evangelism for IVCF. He is the author of True Story and Real Life, and he speaks frequently at campuses, churches, and conferences. Ordained with the Association of Vineyard Churches, he previously served on the pastoral staff of a Boston-area urban church plant, a megachurch in Seoul, and a house church in Los Angeles.

Linson Daniel

InterVarsity Regional Director, Red River

Linson Daniel serves as the Regional Director for InterVarsity/USA in the Red River Region and also serves as the National Coordinator for South Asian InterVarsity. He has been on staff for eight years and has helped plant one church and numerous InterVarsity chapters.

Linson loves teaching, playing volleyball, blogging, and making people laugh. He is married to his beautiful wife, Betina, and they have two lively, talkative children, Sophia (6) and JT (3). Learn more at www.linsondaniel.com

Abner Ramos

InterVarsity Senior Area Ministry Director, Greater Los Angeles

Abner Ramos serves as the National Director for Planting with LaFe (Latino) InterVarsity USA. Abner has been developing indigenous Latino leaders with InterVarsity's Latino Fellowship (LaFe) since 2001. During his time as the LaFe Director in Los Angeles, he doubled the number of Latino students InterVarsity was serving. Abner is a passionate and visionary preacher, mobilizing students to shamelessly follow Jesus Christ into the world of global missions. 

Serene Neddenriep

Serene has worked with InterVarsity for 15 years, and now serves as the National Asst. Director for Planting. She is passionate about innovating creative approaches to starting new ministries and seeing every kind of student in every corner of every campus have an opportunity to have a relationship to Jesus.

Noemi Vega

InterVarsity Area Ministry Director, South Texas

Noemi Vega is the oldest of 5 children, daughter of Irma and Rigo Vega. She graduated her her B.A. in Psychology and recently with her M.A. in Theology. Noemi is passionate about seeing students, staff, faculty, campuses, and cities renewed as they encounter God's love and power. When not kickboxing or training for a 5k, Noemi can be found having deep (and fun) conversations with friends.
