Administrative Assistant

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will provide administrative support, under the direction of InterVarsity’s Director of Legal Services. This role serves the Legal Services Department, Director of Legal Services, and Fellowship with wisdom and the application of administrative gifts with a very high emphasis on internal and external customer service.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: growing in love for God, God’s Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture, and God’s purposes in the world.

  • ​Provide Legal Department administrative support
  • Respond to calls from staff on Legal and Risk Management policies

  • Process incoming mail

  • Provide contract administrative support

  • Maintain and organize supplies, inventory and files and common office areas

  • Raise an agreed-upon amount (10%) of personal financial support

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Open to learn new concepts, methods and skills

  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment

  • Ability to take charge of tasks and work independently without close supervision

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is required

  • Ability to be proactive in helping Director of Legal Services stay on top of issues/projects/etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith

  • Associates degree or 2 years relevant experience

  • 6 months or more administrative experience

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications
  • Excel experience preferred

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
