InterVarsity’s Graduate & Faculty Ministries (GFM) seeks an Area Director to plant and develop ministry serving graduate students and faculty in Upstate New York. The current ministry serves several chapters of graduate and professional students at the University of Buffalo, University of Rochester, and Cornell University, as well as a faculty fellowship drawing from universities throughout the Buffalo area. There is significant opportunity to plant new ministry and expand witness among grad students and faculty on campuses throughout Upstate NY.
The ideal candidate has previous supervisory experience, can build and lead healthy teams, has strong cultural competency and people skills, and enjoys working with a diverse and committed group of staff and volunteers. This person must be prayerful and able to clearly articulate a vision for planting and growing witnessing communities of graduate students and faculty which draws in ministry partners, potential GFM staff, and missional students and faculty leaders. Theological education and/or advanced degrees are considered an asset.
The GFM Area Director will provide leadership to plant ministry on new campuses and develop the ministry on existing campuses, advancing InterVarsity’s mission through clear goals and objectives. This GFM Area Director will hire, supervise, and develop campus ministry staff and volunteers. This AD will regularly gather the team, create and implement Area-wide programs, and raise personal and ministry funds.
