Associate Director - NCF Student Ministry

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship’s NCF Ministry is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Associate Director of Student Ministry, who will assist the National Student Ministry Director in developing NCF Student Ministry at schools and nursing departments across the country. They will serve on the Student Ministry leadership team with one other associate and the Student Ministries Director.

NCF is looking for creative thinkers with a desire and interest in working with nursing students, nurse faculty, volunteers, and NCF/IV staff. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can operate independently and has an interest to work with the nursing corner of campus, volunteers, campus staff, and InterVarsity directors across the country. This person should have prior leadership experience (5+ years on staff with InterVarsity preferred) with outstanding interpersonal skills and a willingness to raise personal ministry support.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate student ministry on campuses nationally, inviting, coaching, and equipping student leaders, faculty advisors, volunteers, Nurses Christian Fellowship Staff and InterVarsity Staff.
  • Plant nursing ministry on unplanted campuses in area of responsibility
  • Serve on the Student Ministry leadership team (bi-weekly remote meetings)
  • Collaborate with the larger NCF team, regarding student ministry, and participate in NCF all-staff team meetings (monthly, virtual).
  • Supervise NCF Student Ministry staff when requested
  • Recruit NCF staff and volunteers
  • Collaborate with InterVarsity directors and staff
  • Oversee chapter administration (FFR, AFR, Chapter Agreements, etc.)
  • Contribute to envisioning and creating resource communications for student ministry such as Campus Vitals, NCF’s student ministry eNewsletter, and other communications
  • Assist when requested in communicating about student ministry in Charting the Way, the NCF members eNewsletter, the Journal of Christian Nursing, and other NCF communications
  • Regularly produce resources for chapters (Bible Study, Gigs, Proxe’s, etc.)
  • Participate in national NCF student ministry programing (conferences, retreats, training, etc.)
  • Help with envisioning / developing effective social media outreach (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tic Toc, etc.) to the nursing corner of the campus.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A deep appreciation for the nursing profession and for nursing students, nursing schools/departments, and nurse faculty.
  • A willingness to learn and participate in NCF’s ministry to students, nurses and nurse educators through Student Ministry, Professional Ministry and the Journal of Christian Nursing.   
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and organize volunteers
  • Proven track record in creative thinking
  • Willingness to collaborate with others to achieve a NCF Student Ministry Strategic Plan and goals
  • Able to travel when needed
  • Administratively sufficient in Microsoft and Google
