Texas Tech University: Having attained “Tier 1” research status in 2016, TTU has aggressively expanded its research capabilities and graduate student recruitment.  Over 7,000 graduate and  professional students conduct their research in over100 programs, including those in the newly formed School of Veterinary Science.  TTU is in the top 10% of universities in the country for full-time graduate enrollment.  Additionally, TTU was designated a “Hispanic Serving Institution” (HSI) in 2019 and is one of only 10 Tier 1 HSI’s in the country.  Situated in Lubbock, the Hub City of the Texas Panhandle, TTU drives growing diversity and cultural enrichment for all of West Texas.

Description: InterVarsity Christian Fellowship’s Graduate and Faculty Ministries (GFM) is seeking a Campus Staff Minister (CSM) for TTU.   This CSM will plant a new ministry, establishing and advancing communities of graduate students and professional students who give expression to our core commitments.  He or she will also support Christian faculty in their calling to serve Christ in the academy and as scholars.

Requirements: In addition to qualities all GFM Staff should possess, this person will be in a planting context and will need strong gifts in leadership and a commitment to evangelism.  He/she will engage and initiate with a diversity of people, cast vision for a robust Christian presence in academic departments, and gather students and faculty into communities centered on mission.   All staff are expected to raise their ministry budget and will receive training in Ministry Partner Development.  All applicants must be able to express a strong sense of calling to this mission.  Applicants seeking full-time and part-time positions will be considered.
