Campus Staff Minister - Utah State University Eastern

USUE is a small university located in the town of Price, UT.  The student population is usually around 2,000 and the town has around 9,000 people.  The university merged with the Utah State system in 2010 and went from being a two-year school to a four-year school.  Though small, we’ve seen some wonderful things happen at this university.  InterVarsity is the only Christian ministry at USU Eastern.  We’ve had a Bible study here for a little less than a decade.  Many LDS, non-Christian, as well as Christian students have attended the studies throughout the years.  The students here are genuine, small-town, outdoor-loving people.

Small groups Bible studies and student discipleship are at the heart of the ministry at USUE.

The campus staff at USUE will need to show initiative, love Mormons and ex-Mormons, be willing to live in a small town, and be willing to be a religious minority.  Experience with a community college (or similar) would be helpful but not required.  Love of the outdoors would also be helpful as many students enjoy hunting, hiking, and generally being outside.

All staff are expected to raise their ministry budget and will receive training and supervision to this end. Both part-time and full-time applicants will be considered.

Contact Samantha Tappan (Samantha.tappan@intervarsity.org) with questions or for more information about the application process.
