Campus Staff Minister - Utah Valley University

UVU is an open-admission university with over 40,000 students located in Orem, UT. It is currently the largest university in Utah.  InterVarsity is one of only two Christian groups on campus. Over 70% of students are active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) and only 1% identify as Protestant/Other Christian. We continue to pray that God would send more workers to this harvest field.

The current chapter at UVU is in the growth stage with a strong alumni base. 2021 is our first year of having a leadership team and apprentice team after a season of replanting. The ministry at UVU is centered around small group Bible studies.  The campus staff minister at UVU will oversee the development of the leadership pipeline and growth of the ministry, as well as potentially overseeing planting work in other areas (LaFe, Athletes, etc.).  We hope to hire multiple staff to this campus to be able to reach each corner of the campus.

The Campus Minister must be willing to love Mormons and ex-Mormons, be humble and willing to learn how to do ministry in a unique context, and be comfortable being a religious minority.

This position is vacant because the previous staff of ten years transitioned to an Area Director role.  The Area Directors, Justin and Samantha Tappan, still live in the area and will train and onboard the campus staff.

All staff are expected to raise their ministry budget and will receive training and supervision to this end. Full-time is preferred, but part-time is a possibility.

Contact Samantha Tappan ( with questions or for more information about the application process.
