Campus Staff Minister - Washington & Lee University

Washington and Lee University is a private, liberal arts university located in Lexington, VA. The campus has a high-achieving, leadership driven student culture that is largely influenced by Greek life.

InterVarsity has a long history of ministry at WLU, but has not had a full-time staff in three years. The vision of InterVarsity at WLU is to help every student and faculty on staff come to know Christ and follow Him in every aspect of their lives. The ministry is small group driven with a number of niche groups in Greek houses, athletic teams, and ethnic-specific small groups, as well as first-year, men’s and women’s groups.

A Campus Staff Minister must be gifted in developing high-capacity student leaders, contextualizing ministry to different campus communities, ministering cross-culturally, empowering students as witnesses on campus and partnering well with campus administrators, with whom we have very good relationships. All staff are expected to raise their ministry budget and will receive training and supervision to this end. Past involvement or at least familiarity with InterVarsity is strongly preferred.  Full-time is preferred, but part-time is a possibility.
