Change Management Manager (INTERNAL ONLY)

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will serve as a Change Management Manager for InterVarsity’s strategic programs and projects. This position will coordinate, communicate and facilitate changes to essential business processes and technical systems, serving as a single point of contact for issues/questions related to those changes. This position is responsible for handling the correspondence to all persons and departments that will be affected by any approved changes.

The Change Management Manager will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization to ensure projects (change initiatives) meet objectives on time, in scope and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage. This role is focused on the people side of organizational change – including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Personal

Provide change management (CM) support to through planning, developing and evaluating projects:

  • Creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption, usage and minimize resistance
  • Plan and manage change projects for on-time, on-budget completion using change management methods
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Program Management/Strategic Plan Office and the Director of Program Management, to accelerate the ministry of InterVarsity through providing excellent project delivery
  • Create actionable deliverables for the five change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Ensure effective execution of assigned tasks and project plans
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress
  • Measure project change performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Provide status reports on assigned project plans and report and escalate to management as needed
  • Be a Change Management ambassador across organization, always looking for opportunities to share CM best practices with other staff and users of program management services
  • Manage the portfolio and change load
  • Support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans
  • Provide direct support and coaching to frontline managers and supervisors as they help their direct reports through transitions
  • Train and develop Change Leaders in Regions and Departments to act as a strategic change lever organizationally

Collaboration

  • Maintain and expand partnership across the organization through delivery of high quality work

Fund Development and Public Relations

  • Develop and maintain personal funding base

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith. Abide by InterVarsity’s Code of Conduct.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3 years’ or more experience in project coordination/management
  • Working knowledge of current Microsoft software applications (Office365, Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint); a willingness to learn ERP and CRM technologies
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts
  • Change management certification preferred
  • Willingness to travel
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenge
