Director of Staff Assessment and Development (INTERNAL ONLY)

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will lead and develop an assessment and development program to supports the InterVarsity vision, mission and strategic initiatives by personal, career and leadership use of gifts and abilities personality spirituality and passions for the mission of InterVarsity.  

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Personal:

  • Be a maturing of Jesus Christ: growing in love for God, God’s Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture, and God’s purposes in the world
  • Be a lifelong learner who prizes the discipleship of the heart and mind 

Communicate and provides assessment available for staff, leaders and teams

  • Provide assessments and debriefing for individuals seeking personal, professional and leadership development and in transitions.
  • Lead team assessments to provide personal and group understanding to appreciate the gifts of others and increase teams work together and effectiveness
  • Consult with staff directors and managers on team or supervisory concerns such as group dynamics, conflicts or to increase team’s effectiveness and increased productivity in working together
  • Develop training programs and modules for personal, team, leadership and ministry development and growth 

Support assessment use and ethical and professional standards for leaders in InterVarsity

Develop a funding base: 

  • Develop a team for prayer and financial support
  • Raise an agreed-on amount of financial support
  • Communicate with donors quarterly

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith
  • A thorough knowledge of (or the ability to learn) the purpose, vision ministries and policies of InterVarsity
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Career Development, Organizational Development or Adult Education or equivalent experience is required
  • Experience in assessments use, debrief and training, 3-5 years  
  • Significant theological acuity and spiritual maturity
  • Demonstrates one to one or groups communication skills along with good written skills  
  • Knowledge and experience in use of debriefing, coaching and mentoring skills for personal, professional and leadership development 
  • Working knowledge of life stages, adult development, group/team dynamics
  • Able to lead though influence 
  • Able to develop and implement protocols and procedures along with data collection and record keeping
  • Open to learn new concepts, methods and skills
  • Demonstrated ability and effectiveness to work with diversity across gender, ethnic or cultural lines.
  • High capacity for self-management
  • Travel as needed for position, MPD and departmental and national meetings and events.
