Law School Ministry Specialist - Boston, MA

InterVarsity is seeking a campus staff to serve law students and professors at the 5 law schools in the city of Boston. Boston boasts 5 influential law schools, including Harvard, and nearly 5,700 law students.

Boston’s Top Law Schools include:

  • Harvard University – 1,800 students
  • Boston University – 900 students
  • Boston College – 750 students
  • Northeastern University – 650 students
  • Suffolk University – 1,600 students

With existing law student fellowships on four of the five campuses and a Christian Legal Society attorney group, the city is rich with opportunities to grow and build InterVarsity’s Graduate Christian Fellowship on these campuses in collaboration with local attorneys and the Christian Legal Society. This position includes all of the Boston law schools, however, the person in this position will focus on Boston University, Boston College, Northeastern and Suffolk University since we already have staff at Harvard.

A strong candidate will be able to build witnessing communities of law students and networks in and around the university context—with law students, attorneys, and InterVarsity ministry partners in the city. Candidates should be self-starters who demonstrate a passion for building witnessing communities, strong interpersonal skills, prior Christian leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate a dynamic relationship with the university and the legal academy. Theological education or a law degree would be an asset.

The law school specialist will meet regularly with the Boston GFM team, assist in creating and implementing Boston-wide programs, and raise personal and ministry funds.

How to Apply

Only applicants who meet the following qualifications will be considered for next steps:

  • A graduate degree is preferred. A completed Bachelor's degree is required
  • Staff must raise the funds needed for their salary, benefits and ministry expenses from churches and individuals
