National Director of Church Engagement

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will build partnerships with denominational and church leaders to advance campus ministry. In addition, this position will oversee the development and implementation of strategies which will expand InterVarsity’s influence among, reputation with, and access to resources from pastors, churches, and church leaders and which will increase InterVarsity’s contribution to local churches. This position will also establish a ministry to serve the parents of students involved with InterVarsity.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the world

Represent InterVarsity in national denominational and church networks

Work with executive, national, and regional leaders to identify church engagement strategies

Oversee a network of staff and pastors who will create resources which equip church leaders to engage college students and InterVarsity

Create a strategy to reinforce InterVarsity’s Core Value of The Church among staff and students

Engage in campus ministry and teaching as requested

Raise personal support at level agreed upon with supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith

Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced theological degree preferred

Minimum 3 years of experience as a church pastor or senior church staff

Minimum 3 years of experience with InterVarsity campus ministry (or equivalent parachurch ministry) practices and culture

Minimum 3 years of experience in ministry partnership development

Experience preaching at churches or teaching in campus ministry
