The Professor and the Projector

InterVarsity’s commitment is to both students and faculty on U.S. college campuses. Some of our staff work mainly with faculty. For others, a chance encounter offers an opportunity to plant a witness.

Such was the case on the campus of East Carolina University in North Carolina earlier this year. InterVarsity students had scheduled a showing of the movie Hotel Rwanda, as a prelude to a discussion on justice. At first the turnout looked dismal. But then the students discovered a journalism professor had assigned the movie to his class and soon the room was filled with more students and their professor.

Afterwards most of the students skipped out on the discussion, but the professor stayed. To find out what happened next, check out the story Rwanda, Darfur and Movie Night on InterVarsity’s website for students, StudentSoul.org.
