Campus Staff Minister - Brown University

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship’s Graduate and Faculty Ministries (GFM) is seeking a campus staff to develop witnessing communities of graduate students, medical students, and faculty at Brown University.

Located in historic Providence, RI, Brown University is an Ivy League institution that includes 6,000 undergraduates, 2,000 graduate students, 400 medical students, and 700 faculty members.  Brown is a leading research university that prizes excellence in teaching and seeks to promote diversity and inclusion at all levels in the university.  In recent years, the university has begun to explore how to strengthen religious diversity, dialogue, and understanding, creating many open doors for ministry at Brown.

Currently InterVarsity’s Graduate & Medical Student Christian Fellowship (GMCF) is a vibrant, prayerful, multiethnic community at Brown.  GMCF hosts several small groups, including a Black Scholars & Professionals group.  A candidate would work alongside an experienced InterVarsity staff who presently serves the GMCF community in a limited capacity.

InterVarsity is looking for staff candidates with a love for graduate students and faculty and the personal disposition, skills, and credentials to earn their trust and respect.  Strong candidates can motivate and assist students in building missional communities and help equip them to live as a redeeming influence for the Gospel in the university. Interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, leadership experience, and the ability to self-manage are essential for success. Theological education and/or advanced degrees are considered an asset.

Part time or full time employment is possible.
