Prepare Together
Before you even set foot on campus you begin the work of planting by gathering a team of partners and preparing to go together.
Starting a movement on a new campus is not something that you should do alone.
In Luke 10:1 Jesus sent his followers out in pairs to preach in every town where he was about to go. In Acts, we rarely see a missionary visit a new city alone. Planting in community is the norm. In the coming weeks you will face major challenges, wrestle with disappointment and failure, and also experience joy and excitement as you see a movement of God starting. You need partners to join you, and God willing, you and your partners will move from being the “planters” to coaching students on the campus where you're starting something new to lead the ministry. Through it all, having a team of trusted partners will help you stay the course and will help you empower students to reach their campus along the way.
What you’ll do in this phase
Everything starts with an encounter with God. Prayer walks are a great way to encounter God on campus and learn what he's already doing there. You'll explore, learn, and interact with people on the campus you're praying for, all while deepening relationships with mission partners.
You need a team of partners to join you in your mission of starting a new campus movement. Identifying the right partners and inviting them to join you is a crucial step.
A Partnership Gathering is a great way to gather a group of partners around the vision of starting something new. It will set you up for a great start by giving you and your partners a chance to encounter God, identify the gifts that you bring together, and explore your networks for connections on campus.
Your Start Something New coach will help you and your partners learn the essential habits and tools for your first visit to campus. This coaching call will be an essential step in being prepared to plant.
You can start something new. We can help.
