InterVarsity Press gathered with thousands of Christian booksellers and retailers last month to support the renewing of the mind. The International Christian Retail Show (ICRS) was held in Denver, Colorado. The show allowed InterVarsity Press to connect with people who strongly value our books.
This year, we were able to celebrate J. I. Packer’s 80th birthday at ICRS! Packer, who is still teaching and writing at 80 years old, attended a birthday celebration in his honor and signed books at the InterVarsity Press booth. People stood in a snaking line, waiting to pay tribute to this great theologian and to receive a free copy of his new book, Praying.
Kelly Munroe Kullberg was also signing copies of her new book, Finding God Beyond Harvard. Kelly, the founder of the Veritas Forum, tells the story of her journey beyond the ivied walls of Harvard to universities across the country. This engaging narrative shows how Kelly grappled with the insights of the academy’s brightest Christian scholars, and explores the deepest questions of the university world and the culture at large. A bookstore owner, who stood in her book signing line, returned the next morning saying he had picked up the book to skim through it and stayed up all night reading from cover to cover.
