Why 2030?

InterVarsity’s is working toward the year 2030 with today’s first graders in mind. They will be college freshmen in the year 2030. If nothing changes from now until then, 31 percent of them will enter with no religious affiliation at all. They’ll look to have deep questions about their lives and identities answered. We want them to find answers leading to Jesus.

But when they set foot on campus, what will be waiting? Chances are, few answers leading to Christ. That’s because still more than half the U.S. campuses are without a known group of Christians actively sharing about his love and hope.  

Longing for revival, we catalyze movements that call every corner of every campus to follow Jesus.

Historically, where do world-changing movements begin? Who does God use to shake up the status quo, to initiate radical change in attitudes, perspectives, society and culture? He starts with young people, often with college and university students.

Our hope is that when this next generation graduates from high school, each of them, on every campus, will find a Christian community that welcomes them, engages them with Scripture, cultivates deep spiritual growth, and affirms their God-given dignity.

Will you help us establish communities of vibrant gospel witness on more campuses, that produce grace-filled and cross-culturally competent women and men of integrity? This strategic mission will impact future generations for decades to come.
