Since 1941, InterVarsity has had a front row seat to seeing the transformation of more than 1 million students and faculty as they have grown into deeper relationship with Jesus through our outreach and programs in person and online. 

As we continue to see each year, God is still at work on college campuses, both offline and online. Even as the world reeled from the declared pandemic in March 2020, thousands of students made decisions to follow Jesus in the 2019-2020 academic year alone. Life is disrupted, but the work of the gospel is not.

As the only national campus ministry that focuses exclusively on college students and faculty, InterVarsity responds when denominations and other college ministries call on us to reach the corners of campus they cannot. Our proven peer-to-peer engagement and discipleship model effectively reaches more students than paid staff ministers would be able to, and this allows us to spread wider the real hope of Jesus.

God has provided tremendous fruit through InterVarsity’s efforts to plant new ministry over the past 10 years—and the opportunity before us is even greater.

244 DECISIONS FOR CHRIST

Because of the COVID-19 crisis, we hosted a national online large group series during which 244 people made first-time or recommitment decisions to follow Christ.

TOTAL STRANGERS: WECOMED

During the COVID-19 crisis, a staff used their Instagram bio to invite students—total strangers to their school—to online Bible Study. Several came and heard the gospel!

THE CALLING GOES DIGITAL

A Greek chapter had committed to doing weekly calls to faith. Then its campus closed due to COVID-19. But the calls to receive Jesus continued to be extended in their online gatherings and students responded!

Life is disrupted, and the work of the gospel is unleashed!

Even as the world reeled from the declared pandemic in March 2020, hundreds of students and faculty responded to calls to faith made in online spaces. Students are curious, staff are motivated, and the gospel is at work. God is moving in mighty ways on college campuses, both offline and online!

Unfortunately, more than 1,100 of our nation's major college and university campuses (with 1,000+ students) are without a witnessing community sharing the love and hope of Jesus. As we seek to reach our goal of catalyzing Christian communities on every campus by the year 2030, you can help us plant on 75 of those campuses in 2020 alone!
