InterVarsity alumni - Stuart Holt, Richmond VA

When Stuart Holt arrived on campus at Virginia Polytechnic in 1971, he had been a Christian less than a month. Someone had told him to check out InterVarsity. He thought it was a sports organization. Being on an athletic scholarship, he thought he should see what the group was about. What he found was a fellowship that helped him grow in Christian discipleship and vision. During his time on campus, Stuart was involved in small groups and took leadership roles in the chapter.

Being on an athletic scholarship, he thought he should see what the group was about. What he found was a fellowship that helped him grow in Christian discipleship and vision. During his time on campus, Stuart was involved in small groups and took leadership roles in the chapter. He even had an opportunity to develop his sales abilities as he earned money to attend the Urbana convention by selling subscriptions to HIS, InterVarsity’s student magazine.

Stuart has continued to use his talent in sales. After working in several companies, he started his own direct marketing company, which he recently sold. He is now the director of The Evangelism Institute, an organization that trains lay people to share their faith.

Stuart lives in Richmond Virginia with his wife and family. He has also maintained a relationship with InterVarsity over the years, speaking at Ministry in Daily Living conferences and supporting InterVarsity in many other ways.
