Walking Jesus Ad

John was the well-known “house atheist” in his fraternity at Purdue University-Lafayette, IN. He was the most vocal, intelligent, cynical, unhappy, and gruff brother in the house. So the Christians in his fraternity were surprised when he decided to go to InterVarsity’s Greek Conference. John participated in the skeptic’s track, designed for students who are unsure about what they believe about Christianity.

On Monday after the conference, John asked one of the Greek InterVarsity students in his house, “Hey, man. Can I buy you a coffee?” The brother invited John to pray a prayer of commitment to Jesus. John accepted Jesus in the coffee shop. The next day, John attended the Greek InterVarsity meeting and, without any prompting, announced to the whole room that he had accepted Jesus Christ as his “personal Lord and homeboy.” Since that night, John’s fraternity brothers can tell the difference Jesus has made in John’s life. He is happy in a way they’ve never seen him.
