WHY SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA?
InterVarsity’s SoCal Region has a particularly vibrant culture of evangelism and prayer. We believe prayer and witness are absolutely fundamental and essential to our planting vision, and we’re excited about the ways SoCal will influence the atmosphere and content. As our hosts, they will lead us in powerful times of worship, helping us to encounter God as a diverse community.
WHY THE HOUSE OF BLUES?
The very first House of Blues opened its doors in a converted historical house in Cambridge, MA in 1992 and is home to live music, original folk art, and delta-inspired cuisine. Now in twelve major cities, House of Blues is dedicated to educating and celebrating the history of Southern culture and African American artistic contributions to music and art. Part of their mission statement is, “To promote racial and spiritual harmony through love, peace, truth, righteousness and non-violence.” Every venue is decorated in genuine Folk, Outsider and Self-Taught artwork. Currently the House of Blues is the largest curator of “Outsider Art” in the world.
The House of Blues is an intriguing expression of the grassroots, visionary and inspiring missionary spirit that the Ambition Conference has always fostered. We believe it’s an ideal environment for gathering and empowering apostolic leaders.
