Helpful answers to your questions
You will fill out an application via Microsoft Forms, an application via Workday, and if accepted, an i9 form. You will be hired as student intern with InterVarsity. You will need three references to complete the application process (InterVarsity staff, Pastoral Leader, and a peer). Please ask them ahead of time! You will need to verify your i9 paperwork with identification documents. Please plan to have these documents after your interview.
For 2026, applications are due by Monday, January 19th.
We anticipate Summer 2026 to be our final cohort. Typically, internships cohorts have been between 4-6 students.
While this internship is focused online, these skills will prepare you to share the good news of Jesus in a compelling and honest way in many forms, including in-person.
You’ll create a digital project that showcases your preaching skills using either storytelling or a one-point message style.
Capstones include:
At least 3 minutes of your voice (audio or video)
A post on a shareable online platform (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Discord)
A clear invitation to spiritual openness
Submission of your media file for OPSI’s archive
Examples include social videos, podcast segments, chat-based storytelling, or creative process reflections.
You’ll also participate in a podcast mid-internship to practice storytelling and reflect on your experience as an Asian American student.
We will provide funds to purchase a limited amount of technology to assist you with your capstone project, in conversation with the program director.
The trainings and doing the capstone are required for completion of the internship, but communicate scheduling conflicts ASAP so we can work with your calendar.
The internship pays a flat rate, $1,200. You will be paid via direct deposit or check, depending on what you select; every 2 weeks during the internship.
