Refreshed to Serve

Shortly after Christmas, most college students are still home enjoying time with family, savoring holiday foods, and seeing friends.  But InterVarsity staff members will be nourishing their lives spiritually, developing ministry skills, and discovering ways to reach students and renew their campuses through the truth of the gospel.

InterVarsity staff from across the nation will come together during Staff Conference 2011, January 5-9 in St. Louis, Missouri, to worship God, study Scripture, pray for students and faculty at colleges and universities, attend inspiring seminars, and refresh their spiritual lives.

Staff find encouragement and renewal through InterVarsity’s triennial staff conference.   Carrie Moorhead, team leader in the New York/New Jersey region, spoke about her experience when she attended the all-InterVarsity staff eventthree years ago:  “Staff Conference renewed my commitment to work for transformation and change on campus and challenged me through witnessing the ministry work of colleagues around the country.”

Staff Conference 2011 will focus on renewing the campus, one of the three points of InterVarsity's vision statement.  By mentoring students as they participate in witnessing communities through prayer gatherings and small group Bible studies, staff foster faithful discipleship to Christ, both on campus and within the church community.   Through active engagement, students are renewing their commitment to Christ and dedication to their campus.

InterVarsity desires to see faculty and students integrate faith, life, and vocation under Christ’s Lordship.  As InterVarsity staff bring fresh vision back to their campuses, they will help students to renew their faith so students can share the truth of Christ and live as disciples within their communities.
