Ten Percent Of Campus Attends InterVarsity In MN

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Winona State University in Southern Minnesota saw more than 750 students attend a campus prayer meeting held the day of the terrorist attacks, September 11, 2001.

Normal attendance at the InterVarsity’s Tuesday meeting is usually around 300, but on the day of the tragedy, more than ten percent of the campus turned up. InterVarsity Campus Staff Member Mark Paulson said that more than 750 students attended a prayer meeting that was sponsored by InterVarsity in place of it’s regular meeting. Winona State enrollment is 7,500.

During the afternoon of the attack, InterVarsity students printed flyers advertising the prayer meeting and handed them out on campus that afternoon.
