Campus Community in the Summer

Throughout the summer, around 30 students involved with InterVarsity’s Graduate Fellowship at Stanford University in California are meeting weekly to share a meal. Members hold eight different passports, so participants sample a variety of foods from many countries. Students cook, serve each other, and wash dishes together.

After dinner each week, these students lead Bible discussions on the passages from the book of Exodus they are studying and spend time praying for missions around the world. Some weeks, students get together for game night. They are also planning an American-style BBQ later this summer.

As new students visit the group, the friendly community, prayer, and varied cuisine keep them interested and coming back week after week.

Many chapter leaders also meet together a week or two before the school year begins to plan the upcoming semester and seek God’s vision for the witnessing community on campus.
