Assistant Learning Director (INTERNAL ONLY)

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will assist in the development and delivery of training to equip campus ministers for their mission. They will work in partnership with subject matter experts, local trainers and staff directors across the movement to help create and deploy training and foster a developmental learning environment for our campus ministers.

  • Assist in the equipping of Campus Ministers in InterVarsity to create a strong culture of learning development
    • Assist in conducting pilots and evaluate for effectiveness and desired outcomes
    • Offer national, regional or departmental consulting, training and resources
  • Provide leadership to critical projects to build departmental foundations, increase excellence and serve the field.
  • Assist the Director of Learning functioning as a key partner and strategist.
  • Embody the department’s vision and goals:
    • Continue to grow a culture of development and learning throughout the organization
    • Apply Adult Learning theory and practices
    • Work in partnership with leaders in topic areas (such as diversity, campus strategy, theological formation) from within LAT and from other departments to build robust training

Develop and maintain personal funding base:

  • Establish and nurture ministry partner relationships through visits, phone calls and regular prayer and thank you letters
  • Annually raise agreed upon budget


  • Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith as a maturing disciple of Jesus
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 3-year supervisory experience preferred
  • Minimum 3-year experiences leading in regional, cluster or national training contexts
  • Minimum 1-year experience in equipping trainers for training, in regional or national settings
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent training design, planning and delivery skills
  • Experience in project management
  • Organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities
  • Capacity to work effectively in time critical environment
  • Ability and commitment to work effectively in a diverse team environment
  • Ability to travel as determined
