Cultivating Creation Care

Monday, July 25
8pm ET / 7pm CT / 6pm MT / 5pm PT / 2pm HT

In Genesis 1:26, God said that man was made so “that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals” (New International Version, 2011). This translation may sound so oppressive, but what if that “rule” focused not on the idea of power over creation, but the aspect of rule that involves care and tending? Caring for creation is something that seemingly has become harder do in the age of concrete jungles and an increasing amount of time on our ‘digital lives,’ but how can we care for creation even in these settings? How can conservation, restoration, and/or cultivation of nature be a way to commune with and explore the nature of God? In this seminar we will explore these questions and how creation care can help us to enrich our physical, mental and spiritual lives.
