Before You Walk
We encourage you to download the PDF journal before
you head out.
In today’s walk we will explore how humans have broken Creator's vision for harmony with one another, hearing stories of pain from Turtle Island and Hawaii. Specifically, this walk contains conversations about Native Boarding Schools, the impact of colonialism, and the overthrow of the sovereign Hawaiian kingdom. In the midst of these stories, we will hear fresh vision from Creator and from our storytellers about good ways to be in community with each other. We invite you to listen to these stories with an open posture and curiosity.
Whether these stories relate to you directly or they point to areas of brokenness in your life or community, they may bring up difficult feelings. If this is the case, we encourage you to talk with others as you need - to trusted friends, pastors, counselors - and even participate in the Story Circle opportunities with Harmony Way.
