Wes Barts graduated from Virginia Tech and has been a staff member with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Virginia Tech for three years. He feels the shock of Monday's tragic shooting on campus as much as anyone. "Though it feels like a dark cloud is over the Blacksburg campus," he says, "God is present."

InterVarsity's alternative spring break in New Orleans was all about transformation: transforming hurricane-damaged New Orleans homes into livable space while transforming student lives to more closely reflect the image of their Creator.

About 230 students from five schools in southern California spent their spring breaks at Campus By the Sea (CBS), an InterVarsity Training Camp, for Mark by the Sea, a concentrated inductive Bible study of Mark.

One hundred thirty-three college students and 25 InterVarsity staff discovered that their beliefs about Jesus were too small as they shared the gospel with residents of the Tenderloin district of San Francisco during the Jesus, Justice, and Poverty conference.

Pray for the students and their families, and for InterVarsity staff on campus.

Just as the swallows annually return to Capistrano to mark the arrival of spring in southern California, the grocery barge arrives in mid-April at Catalina Island to signal the beginning of the camping season at InterVarsity's Campus by the Sea. This year, an Alumni Family Camp will be held for the first time at CBS the week of August 5-10.

Ed and Karen Moy, friends of InterVarsity, have a passion to see Christians live out their faith in the work place. These two have found a ministry sharing this vision of life with InterVarsity students.
