ISSUES IN CAMPUS MINISTRY

For more than 75 years, InterVarsity's mission field has been U.S. college and university campuses. Each of the following issues are a part of InterVarsity's campus ministry in the 21st century.

  • The Search for Meaning  InterVarsity staff on campuses around the country testify to the fact that students still desire truth and meaning in their lives. Last year in InterVarsity more than 4,000 people made first time decisions to follow Christ.
  • Women and Men in Partnership In the age of #MeToo, Christian communities have not been above reproach. Campus ministry can create a culture of honor, care and justice with women and men thriving in partnership.
  • Our Redeemed Ethnic Identity  Christians are called to move beyond the artificial tension of “color-blindness” and explore something far more beautiful: that we each have an ethnic identity, created by God, and thus redeemable by God.
  • Changing the Culture of the University  InterVarsity's vision is to see students and faculty transformed, the campus renewed, and world changers developed. We believe campus culture can be, and should be, changed.
  • Missions  Students increasingly have a global perspective, with concerns about     populations at risk. Through InterVarsity students are exposed to a needy world     and equipped to respond.
  • Campus Access On a small but growing number of campuses, Christian students are being marginalized and forced to conform to nondiscrimination policies which penalize religious expression.
  • Cutting Edge Evangelism Conversions on campus are numerically higher than ever. How do InterVarsity students share their faith in today's campus environment?
  • Scripture Engagement  Inductive Bible study has been at the core of InterVarsity's campus witness since the beginning. The Bible is still relevant as a foundation for life in the 21st century.
