Daniel's Story

Daniel, a freshman at SUNY-Purchase, met some InterVarsity students at an outreach event on campus. They invited him to a pizza party that night. At the party Daniel told them, “I’m not a Christian, but I want to know more about how faith can be a part of my college life.” Later that evening, someone in the chapter shared the gospel with Daniel and he said ‘yes’ to following Jesus!

Last spring, Laura, a volleyball player at Bucknell University,  felt God call her to start a Bible study for her teammates.  But partway through the semester, she struggled with  homesickness and considered transferring before starting it.

Last school year at the University of Colorado Boulder, Derek, Abigail, and Jake started attending an InterVarsity small group on campus. There, they found belonging, opportunities to grow their faith, and a lifelong love of prayer ministry. They also discovered a God who could miraculously heal them not only of their physical ailments, but also of their mental, emotional, and spiritual brokenness.

When Esther arrived at Harrisburg, her faith wasn’t her main focus. She thought that she could follow Jesus on her own and wasn’t seeking Christian community –– until a friend invited her to an InterVarsity Bible study.

When Abby enrolled at Hope College, the idea of planting a Greek ministry on campus was the furthest thing from her mind. But because of one conversation, God used Abby to do something extraordinary and start a new Greek chapter at her school.
 

Behind every growing student leader is a campus staff minister. 

Paula, a Campus Staff Minister in Georgia, coached Adriana, a student who wanted to replant an InterVarsity Latino Fellowship (LaFe) chapter at Emory University. Because Paula lives several hours away, she used The Ministry Playbook — InterVarsity’s free digital resource for campus ministry training — to equip Adriana with the skills she needed to build a thriving chapter of 20 students.

After weeks of prayer and discernment, it seemed clear that God was calling Jordan to start BCM on her campus in Auraria, Colorado. Still, Jordan struggled with doubt over whether she was right for the task.

Antonio was a nominal Chrisitan going through a particularly tough time during the spring of 2020. His therapist, seeing the need for Antionio to have community, recommended he connect with InterVarsity.
