Tsunami Shapes Student Ministry

The wall of water that devastated coastal areas of southern Asia on the day after Christmas left behind a ravaged landscape and thousands of stunned human survivors. The survivors and their communities will be the focus of an outpouring of ministry from many Christian groups in that part of the world for months and even years to come. InterVarsity is responding in several ways, from the offering of over $10,000 for tsunami relief from our Staff Conference 05, to relief projects with partner ministries through the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students.

Los Angeles campus staff member Eddy Ekmekji is leading a spring break student and staff trip to Sri Lanka and/or India. The group will team up with local Christian college students, through IFES, in an outreach to bring health and hope to tsunami-affected areas. The dates for the trip are March 25-April 3. For more information on costs and other details of the spring break project, contact Eddy Ekmekji as soon as possible.
